How did I become a personal trainer you asked??
About six and half years ago (aged 42), I saw a photo of myself during a holiday in Queensland, and I did not like what I saw. My body composition had changed so much since the birth of my two boys. I was fit, lean and athletic but I had let myself go and focused solely on my work and young family. There was no time to exercise because I was too busy and just too tired…..
Then a boxing exercise flyer came into my letter box and I thought why not give this a go? It looked fun and how hard could it be? I was pretty fit (so I thought) and I’ve always wanted to try boxing. So I rang and made an appointment to have a free trial. After the first class I discovered the true meaning of “fit” and boy I was nowhere near fit!! After that class I could not face another class until one week later which by then my trial was up. So I bit the bullet and signed up. What am I getting myself into I wondered?
From there I participated in my first 12 Week Challenge and it was fantastic! It was hard work but the results were incredible and I learned so much – it changed my life forever. It was then I decided that I wanted to be part of this community to help and guide other people to become strong, fit, happy and healthy.
So after many discussions with my family and my mentor I decided to become a personal trainer. I now have my own personal clients whom I train and help achieve their fitness goals and aspirations.
I have helped businesses train and motivate many clients, guide them through and run their Challenge Training. The challenges have been the most rewarding part of my training, helping people to be happy, healthy and strong. Seeing their faces when they reach their goals and have changed their mindsets and lifestyles. It’s so rewarding and it is just the best feeling!
This has been a wonderful journey for me and it will continue to grow. I have met many new friends and it feels great to belong to this fantastic community.
That flyer changed my life, I am now so much stronger, fitter and faster!! I hope to pass this passion and motivation onto the clients I train.
